Septic Foreman

DESCRIPTION:

The Septic Supervisor will organize and carry out jobs in a professional manner to deliver superior experiences for both staff and clients. The main focus of this position is to complete and oversee all septic installations as planned, while managing materials/product and team members to a high degree of efficiency.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Maintain top quality workmanship.

  • Read and interpret designs and complete layouts on-site.

  • Operate and maintain equipment while it is on the jobsite.

  • Report to the Manager at the end of each day with progress reports and plan for the next day.

  • Keep inventory of parts and materials to ensure we always have sufficient supplies.

  • Clean and tidy up the job site at the end of each day.

  • Assist with general labor duties when needed, in order to complete construction projects

  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times

  • Complete daily paperwork detailing job hours and costs

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures

  • Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma

  • Valid G class driver’s license, A/Z or D/Z an asset

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience installing onsite wastewater systems

  • BCIN # for Part 8 of the OBC

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications

  • Physically fit with strong stamina

  • Basic measurement and calculation skills

  • Ability to follow safe working procedures

  • Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail

  • Good analytical and problem solving skills

  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)

  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team

  • Speak, read, and write English

  • Computer skills an asset

WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Various locations including both residential and commercial landscape construction sites

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis

  • Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold

  • Work flexible hours including occasional weekend work

LEVEL OF INDEPENDENCE: You will be required to layout jobsites and build septic systems as per the design given to you, knowing there will be inspections from the municipalities, and periodic site visits from the Septic Manager. Quality workmanship and best practices are required. You will be responsible for planning job timelines i.e. tank and sand deliveries. You must be a highly motivated self- starter with a strong sense of purpose and direction.

  •   This position requires constant mental sharpness as it relates to co-workers, safe handling of Equipment, property, and dealing with the environment and physical elements. 

  • The position requires constant analyzing, evaluating, reasoning and communicating.

Physical

  • Physically fit, able to lift up to 25 Kilograms repeatedly throughout the day.

COMPENSATION:

$25.00 - $32.00 / Hour
